Cleve COrner
a film studies graduate turned bookseller, started his career in the publishing industry by pushing copies of weird novels to unassuming customers. In the decades that followed he has curated and promoted hundreds of author programs at Politics & Prose Bookstore and the Enoch Pratt Free Library as well as produced nationally broadcast author interviews, author events, a publishing podcast, and live coverage of book festivals for C-SPAN’s BookTV. He is currently an MFA student and Klein Teaching Fellow in creative writing and publishing arts at the University of Baltimore, where he writes weird short stories that he pushes on unassuming friends. He has a special interest in fabulist fiction, sportswriting, creative nonfiction, and supporting debut authors. When he’s not reading or writing, he’s probably watching basketball or pro wrestling.
Mike GiarratanO
began his literary career at Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC, where he turned the lights on to begin a day of bookselling and off at night after hosting an author event. After returning to Boston, where he went to school, he spent the next 15 years as an in-house publicist at various publishers, including Harvard University Press, Da Capo Press, and Hachette Book Group. He has worked across genres and with authors of varying perspectives and experiences on everything from interviews, profiles, and features to reviews, op-eds, and excerpts. Mike relishes the opportunity to connect authors with readers and believes it is at once an art and hard work. He accepts the challenge and will roll up his sleeves to make it happen. His love of puzzles, trivia, hiking, and the Mets helps. So does coffee.
